2019 BDAQ State Award – Multi-Res Project up to 6 Dwelling Unit

AMBD proudly announces that we have been awarded Highly commended in the ‘Queensland State Building Design Award 2019’ for our project Verdichio Ave.

Nestled on the picturesque waters of the Gold Coast, the clients brief was to provide a modern 3 story walk up detached dwellings on this north facing block. They wanted to maximize the site’s development opportunities within a pre-established building framework that were present at Verdichio Avenue.

Features of the house included the outlook views that are captured, weather it be from sitting in the bath

tub over looking the water way and city skyline with the seamless corner glazing, the master bed and looking over the water ways and skyline, to the 360° uninterrupted views seen on the roof top terrace.

The goal of the BDAQ is to support and promote BDAQ members working within a local, national and international context. BDAQ also aims to guide building designers to a position of respect and integrity within the design and building industries.
BDAQ was founded in 1990 with the mission to give recognition to a profession of crucial importance to the building industry. Over three-quarters of houses and around 45% of commercial buildings are designed by Building Designers. Only building designers licensed by the QBCC, or registered engineers are allowed to design buildings and create plans for builders or clients in Queensland.

AMBD proudly announces that we won the ‘BDAQ Gold Coast Regional Building Design Award for Best use of James Hardie Products’ for our project Verdichio Ave.

Nestled on the picturesque waters of the Gold Coast, the clients brief was to provide a modern 3 story walk up detached dwellings on this north facing block. They wanted to maximize the site’s development opportunities within a pre-established building framework that were present at Verdichio Avenue.

Features of the house included the Scyon Matrix feature paneling to the Garages and feature hoods as well as the use of the Lenia board feature cladding on sections of the external skin of the building.

BDAQ Gold Coast Winner – Alternations/Additions $300,001-$600,000

AMBD proudly announces that we have been awarded the ‘Regional Building Design Award 2016’ for our project Almalfi Drive. We are the BDAQ Gold Coast winner in the category of  Residential Alternations/Additions $300,001-$600,000 (construction cost).

This transformation converted the existing single story 2 bedroom residence into a two story four bedroom house with two ensuites, theatre room, separate living and rumpus rooms, separate office, and new modern kitchen.

Features of the house included a large modern kitchen overlooking the existing pool and courtyard. A second story was added to the residence with additional bedrooms and a spacious void to the lower level. Furthermore, a large new 2 car garage, spacious office and new theatre room were part of the renovation.
